Yahtzee Review - by Valli S.
As the name of the computer game suggests, this is a dice game exactly like the board game Yahtzee. If you are already familiar with Yahtzee, then the nice thing about this game is that there are no long and drawn out directions and rules to read before you begin playing unless, of course, you need to refresh your memory. You can just jump in and begin playing at once!
To begin with, the music is very upbeat! In the background, you can hear the sounds of the keyboard and drums. You also hear sounds of the dice being rolled and hitting the board. There is also an audible sound if you happen to get a Yahtzee. I gave this category a rating of 8.
SOUND & MUSIC: 8
There are three basic ways you can play the computer game Yahtzee. First, you can play the solitaire version. Next, you can play the game with a computer as your opponent. Lastly, you can play the dice game with your friends. I also chose to play this game with a full screen so I could get the full impact of the game. The only time I won was when I played against the computer in the easy mode. For this category, I gave it a rating of 9.
GAMEPLAY: 9
As with the original board game, you have five dice, a blue and a red cup with which to roll the dice and a score pad. They are all very realistic looking and it makes you feel just like you’re playing the original board game. I gave this category a rating of 10!
GRAPHICS: 10
If you like the board game Yahtzee, then you will love the computer game. I love dice games and since I played Yahtzee years ago, I again became enamored with this computer game. I found this game to be quite addictive. There is also a bit of strategy involved if you wish to beat your opponent. As far as the rating of this category goes I gave it a solid rating of 10!
FUN: 10
Final conclusion:
I would definitely recommend this game for young and old alike. I would not recommend it for very young children unless you wish to play along with them and help them count the numbers on the dice. I think this is a very good family game!
