Spyde Solitaire Review - by Valli S.
As the name of this computer game suggests, my first impression is that it is some kind of a card game. This game is based on spider solitaire which I am not familiar with. At first, the game seemed easy enough to play. I whizzed past the first level and my confidence was built up. Then when I got to the second level – well, let’s just say it is harder than it looks!
The music sounds like that of the Roaring 20’s! In the orchestra, you can definitely make out the sounds of brass instruments and woodwinds. When you make a wrong move, the game lets you know by the blare of a saxophone. I gave this category a rating of 8.
SOUND & MUSIC: 8
I chose to play the single-suited spider solitaire at first. The game summary tells you how many moves it took you to finish the game and how much time it took. There are 30 levels of solitaire puzzles that you must beat in order to win the game. I just could not seem to get past level 2 no matter how hard I tried. There are different choices of Spyde Solitaire to choose from such as Mister Spyde, Turbo Spyde and single, double and four-suited spider. In one version of Spyde Solitaire, I was to draw a card from the top of the deck at the top of the screen if I could not make any more moves. That only ended up putting random cards on my already overturned cards that I had started. It certainly made this game a lot more difficult to play! I gave this category a rating of 7.
GAMEPLAY: 7
The graphics were mainly the playing cards, and they were very realistic looking. After you win the level, the cards move across the screen followed by some stars and cheering. I gave this category a rating of 8.

I am pretty good at playing regular solitaire, but when it came to this card game I was really stumped! The more I played, the more frustrated I became. I was just dealt lousy cards, and there was no way to get around that. I didn’t quit, that’s for sure. I know it takes a certain amount of brainpower and strategy to win at solitaire. However when you keep turning up bad cards there is not much you can do. Because I got so upset and frustrated with this game, I only gave this category a rating of 6.

Final conclusion:
If you like card games, and hopefully you are better than I am; I think you may like to try your luck at Spyde Solitaire. You certainly have nothing to lose!
