Sheeplings
Sheeplings Game Review

Sheeplings Review - by Valli S.

The task of this computer game was to try to get the sheep into the fenced in area through the gate. This was accomplished by moving the sheep dog in order to get the sheep to move. At first it was easy enough, but as I progressed through the levels I had to herd more sheep. There were also more gates involved, and I had to decide where to move them.

The music in the background is a lilting type of music with flutes and recorders. The sounds of the dogs barking were so realistic that I thought it was our dog! The sheep’s bleating is also very lifelike. I gave this category a raging of 8.
SOUND & MUSIC: 8

There are three quests altogether. The first quest is to bring all of the sheep to a sheep jumping competition in Woolyville. At one point there were two gates, and I did not know where to herd the sheep. I figured out that three sheep had to go in each gate. This was mainly done by trial and error. I had to keep the dog barking in order to keep the sheep in the pen. With so many different pens, it got confusing as to where to herd the sheep. In one round, the dog had to protect the sheep from hawks or else the hawks carried the sheep away. That did not go well!
GAMEPLAY: 7

The sheep and the dogs seemed like they were drawn by junior high school students or even younger. I thought there could have been much more detail in the sheep. The graphics were bright enough, but there were two whitish strips covering the playing board and it made it difficult to see. The directions were even that obscured by these two white strips. It seemed to ruin the entire game. Because of this flaw, I only gave this category a rating of 5.

I did not care much for the computer game "Sheeplings". It required no real thought processes but was only a matter of trial and error. When you come down to it, only luck was involved. You have to be really quick with this game. Otherwise your sheep will be snatched by the hawks on the last level to get to Grandpa Otis’s house. I would only give this game's fun factor a rating of 6.
FUN: 6

Final conclusion:
For those who are quick on the draw, I would recommend playing this game. I definitely think this is more of a game for children rather than for adults.
