Fairy Godmother Tycoon
Fairy Godmother Tycoon Game Review

Fairy Godmother Tycoon Review - by Valli S.

First of all, you get to select a look. There are two types of modes - the classic mode and the "happily ever after" mode. In the classic mode, there lived a nice but not so smart king. The fairy godmother looks for someone to help run her potions store. First you begin in Tutorialville where you increase your net worth to 1500 beans. You cannot have potions without first purchasing potions supplies. Your finances are shown at the screen at the bottom left. At one point in the game, the three little pigs contractors seek your help as to what they can do to keep their houses from being blown down by the big, bad wolf.

The music is light, lilting and airy. When you make a sale, there are sounds of coins clinking together. There are other sounds like bubbles popping. Since I believe there could be much improvement in this area, on a scale of 1-10 I only gave this category a rating of 5.
SOUND & MUSIC: 5

It is your job to help the fairy godmother in her potions shops. You must try to buy your ingredients at a low price and sell at a higher price so that you can make a tidy profit. There are hints that are given that will help you in the potions business. If some peasants are happy with your store, they will toss little bags of goodies on the floor that you can collect. Upgrades are the ticket to higher customer satisfaction and higher sales volume. You can even hire more help to work in the potions shop. Make sure to do these tasks every day: check the weather report, buy supplies, set your prices and spend some money on marketing. On a scale of 1-10, I gave this category a rating of 7.
GAMEPLAY: 7

There are villages, green grass, houses, windmills and peasants. There is also the potions shop on a little screen that is located at the bottom left of your computer screen. On a scale of 1-10, I gave this category a rating of 6.

I have always been intrigued with running my own business so I thoroughly enjoyed this game. I had to remember to keep my sale price just right so that I would make a nice little profit with each sale. I certainly did not want to scare the peasants off by selling my potions at too high a price. On a scale of 1-10, I rated this category a 7.
FUN: 7

Final conclusion:
If you are a business person or if you want to run a business of your very own, then I would suggest that you put your hand to the plow and give this game a try. I would not suggest this game for younger children who do not yet know the value of a dollar. However, I do think this game would be suitable for junior high students up to adults.
