Diamond Detective Review - by Urmii B.
Diamond detective is, as the name suggests, a detective game. The player becomes a diamond detective who has the responsibility to recover precious and colorful jewels and track down ten jewel thieves by solving the case. The story behind the game is that the precious jewels of Gemopolis have been stolen and the Commissioner has requested the help of the player who is a skilled detective. So the responsibility to collect the stolen gems, assemble clues and solve the mystery behind the heists falls on the shoulders of the detective gamer. Though it has a very conventional concept, it has a very beautiful format, which separates it from the rest of its genre. The player has to recover those stolen jewels. It is a great pleasure of being the assistant to the Commissioner.
The music has nothing new to offer being typical on this genre. A mild and calm music is heard in the background. The music does not disturb you to play or solve the mystery. It goes on by itself ignoring anyone's concern or appreciation. The game has a very conventional music format.

A game with such valuable stones does not demand an elaborate graphic skill. And the game does justice to this by not having any extraordinary kind of graphics. But the picturing of the game with its colorful screen must be appreciated. The colorful gems make the screen really interesting. There are different board layouts and special tiles with retro sleuth twists to make the game more interesting.

The main play takes place on a board populated by gems of various colors and sizes. As long as you can match two or more gems in adjacent tiles you can collect them for your vault.
When I started playing the game I found it an easy game to play. I had also collected a number of bonus points without even knowing it. It is as simple as that. What I had to do was make the chain of the same gems as long as possible. Each time you collect a chain of gems, others will replace them, so you have a constantly full game field to play with. The game has a very easy way of playing.
After completing each level, the Commissioner will give you a clue as to where to find the thief. You have to collect five clues to go to the suspect line up to figure out the thief you are looking for.
GAMEPLAY: 8
Diamond Detective is a part puzzle and a part detective story within the same format. You have to catch the thief as well as recover the jewels by making a chain of the same type of jewel which helps you to collect bonus points. It is a single player game but can be played by multiple players.
I played this game from beginning to end. While I enjoyed it, I didn't like the fact that when I had finished all 50 levels, the game was finished and all you could do after that was start all over again from the beginning and play the exact same game. However, the game can be interesting once again if you go back to the main menu and play the game by changing the name of the player.
This game can be great fun for those who like light and calm games rather than first person shooter games or disaster games. It does not need a great amount of intelligence and wit. The game can be enjoyed at a casual pace. The play is ideal for a beginner. A new gamer can get addicted to it if he enters into the world of games through this one. The game also gives you the pleasure of being the assistant and the person on whom the Commissioner himself can rely on.
